About

I am currently working as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant in the Department of Agronomy at Purdue University, where I apply environmental modeling, machine learning, and geospatial analysis to study soil carbon dynamics, predict crop yield, and advance precision agriculture. I am a member of the Geoinformatics, Ecosystem Management & Soil Sustainability Lab, working under the supervision of Dr. Siddhartho Paul.

From 2022 to 2025, I served as a Graduate Research Assistant and completed my Ph.D. in Biosystems Engineering in the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering, Mississippi State University. I worked in the Advanced Plant and Soil Sensing Lab and my research focused on enabling the use of the USDA-NSSC-KSSL Mid-infrared spectral library for USDA-NRCS field officers in Mississippi and Texas, supporting rapid and cost-effective soil property estimation using spectroscopic techniques.

In 2016, I completed my bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Technology and Management from the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. I later earned my master’s degree in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering from the Postgraduate Institute of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya.

I started my professional career in 2017, and since then I have worked with multiple private and government institutes at local and international levels.
